This year, Fourth of July celebrations will probably look a little different. Many annual events have been canceled or modified out of safety concerns because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We found a few places where you can still see fireworks for the holiday. Please be sure to check individual websites for the most up-to-date information regarding COVID-19 safety guidelines and in case of bad weather.
July 4
City of Gastonia
Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. with best viewing in downtown Gastonia. Click here for more information.
City of Morganton
Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:40 p.m. at Freedom Park in Morganton. The park will be closed to the public, so you’ll need to watch from nearby areas. Click here for more information.
Downtown Belmont
Enjoy al fresco dining from 5 - 10 p.m. on Main Street and fireworks beginning at 9:30 p.m. Click here for more information.
Hounds Drive-In (Kings Mountain)
Fireworks will begin around 9 p.m., double feature will follow. Cost $20 per car. Click here for more information.
Tega Cay
Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. at the Tega Cay Golf and Conference Center. Parking will be available first come, first served at the center, Rundle Park and Tega Cay Elementary School. Click here for more information.

Other events happening:
Baxter Village/Fort Mill Parade
The parade kicks off at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at 940 Market St. in Fort Mill. The best place to watch will be along Market Street in Baxter Village Town Center at the intersection of Highway 160 and Interstate 77 Exit 85. Fourth on the Field
The Charlotte Knights will host an event at 10 a.m. Saturday at Truist Field in uptown. Brunch is included with admission and can be enjoyed before or after your scheduled time on the field. Cost is $25 for adults, $15 for kids 12 and younger. Reservations are required. Click here for more information.
Dallas Lavender Lane Farm
The newly opened lavender farm at 937 Old Willis School Road in Dallas will have local vendors and activities from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday. Click here for more information.
Salute from the Shore
On Saturday, military and vintage planes will fly over the South Carolina coastline from 1 - 1:35 p.m. beginning at Cherry Grove and ending at Beaufort. Click here for more information.
