CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A popular new exhibit seen by more than 2 million visitors in Paris is now on display at Camp North End in Charlotte.

The “Immersive Van Gogh” digital experience features the art of Vincent Van Gogh, from his sunny landscapes and night scenes to his portraits and still life paintings, projected over 300,000 cubic feet. Guests can see entrancing, moving images that highlight the brushstrokes, details and colors of each piece.

The installation includes works such as the Mangeurs de pommes de terre (The Potato Eaters), the Nuit étoilée (Starry Night), Les Tournesols (Sunflowers) and La Chambre à coucher (The Bedroom) among many others.

To help keep guests safe, COVID-19 protocols include reduced capacity and touchless hand sanitization stations placed throughout the venue. In addition, social distancing circles will be projected throughout the entire exhibition gallery space to help ensure that all guests have enough space to safely enjoy the experience.

The show runs through Jan. 2, 2022, in Camp North End’s historic Ford Building.

Know before you go

There is air conditioning but the building is very old, so dress appropriately. How much time you spend at the exhibit is really up to you. The projections run on a 35-minute loop, but you can stay for as many runtimes as you want once you enter. Most people stay for two to three runtimes or more.

Parking is free. Look for large signs and/or flags that mark the turn-in from Statesville Avenue and Graham Street. To access the large parking lot adjacent to the exhibit entrance from Statesville Avenue, enter this address in your GPS: 1774 Statesville Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28206.
