RONDA, N.C. — The COVID-19 pandemic can’t stop winemaker Jay Raffaldini from hosting his most popular event of the year. In fact, some might say it’s made the event better.
This year, instead of a one-day Festa Italiana, Raffaldini Vineyards' annual celebration of all things Italian will be held over three days beginning Thursday.
Offerings will be spread across the expansive property, and sessions and tours will be limited to 50 guests.
In addition to sessions on winemaking and Italian culture, there will be live music, food trucks and other local vendors. There also will be a best mask competition, so be sure to wear your favorite wine-related mask.
Festival goers can set up their own canopies, lawn chairs or blankets in designated spots that are marked 6 feet apart.
Capacity will be limited so purchasing tickets in advance is recommended.
Tickets cost $20. Festival hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
