Queen City Streams brings local live music to your living room

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Local independent music venues like Neighborhood Theatre, Visulite Theatre and Evening Muse have been closed since the beginning of the pandemic in mid-March. No shows mean no revenue for these businesses.

In an effort to raise money for the venue and the artists who play there, Neighborhood Theatre is hosting a concert series online.

Queen City Streams happens every Wednesday on Facebook Live and Mandolin.

It’s free to watch although a suggested donation of $10 is encouraged.

The series provides music fans with a safe way to check out Charlotte musicians from the comfort of their own homes.

The series is sponsored by Charlotte-based concert promoter Maxx Music, Free Range Brewing, Mama Ward’s Cake Co., Cabo Fish Taco and Fedor.

Here’s the lineup:

Feb. 17 - Ocie Davis

Feb. 24 - Dexter Jordan

March 3 - Late Bloomer

March 10 - Temperance League

March 17 - Jim Sharkey

March 24 - Modern Moxie

March 31 - Doneta Dawson

April 28 - Emily Sage
