CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Fitzgerald's announced on its Facebook page Tuesday that it is closing its doors permanently after eight years.
The bar and restaurant on East Fifth Street was forced to close in mid-March because of COVID-19. It reopened on June 1 with scaled-back hours.

“We thank you for the love, support and memories made. We will always hold a special place in our hearts for all the wonderful people we have met and the remarkable experiences we have had in Uptown Charlotte,” the post read.
The bar regularly hosted Pittsburgh Steelers, Penn State and Auburn football watch parties.
