Charlotte’s largest amphitheaters update COVID-19 protocols — here’s what you need to know

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte’s largest amphitheaters, PNC Music Pavilion and Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre, will be operating under new rules beginning this week.

Starting Monday, all concert attendees will be required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the event.

Live Nation, the entertainment company that operates the venues, announced the changes in August.

The protocols will apply at all Live Nation-owned venues, which also include the Fillmore Charlotte and The Underground.

In addition, to help reduce staff contact with fans’ belongings, only clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags will be allowed in the venues. Tote bags can be no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ and clutch bags cannot be bigger than 4.5″ x 6.5″.

All events will use mobile entry as well, which means that your mobile device will be used to get into the show. Tickets will not be emailed or available for print. However, for previously scheduled shows where you selected print at home or mail, your tickets will be honored accordingly.

Pro tips: If you’ve purchased tickets for a group and some people plan to come separately, you can transfer the tickets directly by using the Live Nation app. Also, before entering the gate, increase the brightness of your phone screen to help with scanning. This season, you can keep your cash at home. All points of sale at the venue will be cashless -- only credit or debit cards will be accepted.

Regarding face masks, the venues will also follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendation that all fans who are not fully vaccinated wear face coverings unless they are actively eating, drinking or are otherwise exempt from having to wear a mask. Fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear a face covering.

All high-touch areas, including seats, handrails, concessions stands, restrooms and merchandise stands will be disinfected. In addition, Clorox hand sanitizing dispensers will be located prominently throughout the venues, and disinfectant wipes will be readily available in high-touch spaces, including bathrooms, dining and picnic tables, bars and concessions.
