CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC are kicking off the holidays on Tuesday with a Tree Lighting Festival.
The festival will be held outside Bank of America Stadium along Graham, Stonewall and Mint streets from 5 - 8 p.m.
There will be appearances by Sir Purr, the TopCats Cheerleaders, the PurrCussion Drumline, the Black & Blue Crew as well as Charlotte FC players in a procession that will precede the lighting of the tree at 7 p.m. The 50-foot-tall Norway Spruce tree harvested from Watauga County will be on the corner of Mint and Graham streets.
Other family-friendly activities include a photo booth, caricature artists, balloon artists, a chance to meet Santa Claus, and a family-friendly movie shown on a big screen at the corner of Graham and Stonewall streets.
Bottled water and hot cocoa will be available free of charge. Additional food and drinks will be available for purchase from various local food trucks on site.
The NFL Clear Bag Policy will be in place at the tree lighting festival. Transparent, plastic, vinyl or PVC bags smaller than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ will be allowed after inspection.
