CHARLOTTE — It’s almost time to ring in the new year and there are plenty of places in the Queen City where you can do it in style.

CLT NYE in Uptown
This family-friendly event will feature live music, the lighting of the Queen City crown and fireworks at midnight. Festivities kick off at 8 p.m. on Tryon Street at Levine Avenue of the Arts. Admission is free. Click here for more information.
Charlotte New Year’s Eve Bar Crawl
Enjoy free admission to several Uptown bars including Ri Ra, Connolly’s, World of Beer, Prohibition and Dandelion, a complimentary appetizer buffet, Champagne toast and other perks. Tickets cost $40 and are limited. Click here for more information.
New Year’s Eve at WinterFest (Carowinds)
Ring in 2023 with the sights and sounds of WinterFest. Family-friendly festivities will begin at 5 p.m. There will be several early-evening countdowns for the little ones in addition to the main countdown at midnight with fireworks. Tickets start at $32.99. Click here for more information.
New Year’s Eve at Coyote Joe’s
Usher in the new year with live music, party favors and a Champagne toast at midnight at Coyote Joe’s. Tickets cost $12. Click here for more information.
New Year’s Eve at Kate’s Skating Rink
Kick off New Year’s Eve with family-friendly fun and games beginning at 11 a.m. at all three Kate’s locations (Lowell, Hudson and Indian Trail). Admission costs $12. Click here for more information.
Noon Year’s Eve Parties
Families can celebrate the new year with a countdown at noon and balloon drop at Discovery Place Kids-Huntersville. Tickets are required and cost $18. Click here for more information.
Another place celebrating at noon is Sea Life Aquarium in Concord where there will be a balloon drop, crafts, sparkling juice and a live mermaid. Regular aquarium admission required. Click here for more information.
Dress in your pajamas and fuzzy slippers, sip on hot chocolate, enjoy some crafts, sing karaoke and ring in 2023 at noon at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. Regular garden admission applies. Click here for more information.
Roaring New Year’s Eve Gatsby Party at The Music Yard at SouthBound
Partygoers can enjoy a roaring ‘20s themed night that includes live music and DJs on multiple stages and other festivities beginning at 7 p.m. Open to adults 21 and older. Tickets start at $45. Click here for more information.
Winter Wonderland New Year’s Eve at Trolley Barn Fermentory
Admission includes themed hors d’oeuvres, Champagne toast at midnight, DJ and dancing, special countdown, takeaway gifts and other festivities. Tickets cost $65. Click here for more information.
New Year’s Eve Trail Race at USNWC
If you’d prefer to skip the fancy parties and kick off 2023 by racing through the woods, the Whitewater Center is hosting two races that will take place New Year’s Eve. Headlamps are required for the nighttime races. Click here for more information.
