Local business owners donate $5,000 to Bullington Gardens

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. — A popular trail at Bullington Gardens in Hendersonville is getting a big boost thanks to a donation from two local business owners.

Rakesh and Dolly Agarwal, the owners of Rug and Home, presented a check for $5,000 to Bullington Gardens’ Fairy Trail. The trail meanders through the woods and aims to inspire people’s imaginations.

The trails got even more popular during the Covid pandemic as families looked for ways to spend time together while safely social distancing, and now they get over 1,000 people per week.

Bullington Gardens says the popularity means the trail also needs constant upkeep and renewal “to keep the miniature magic fresh.”

That’s where the Agarwals’ donation will come in handy -- Bullington says it’s going to renew and expand the trails “while also keeping the organization’s mission of serving students with physical and mental challenges.” The gardens also offer horticultural therapy programs to the community.

The money was presented to Bullington Gardens during a special “Fairy Tea and Luncheon” event on Wednesday.
