CHARLOTTE — During the pandemic, two longtime friends with no professional culinary experience decided to launch a vegan burger food truck, and the response was more than they ever imagined it would be.

Lamont Heath and Monty “Tigo” Faulkner met more than a decade ago and worked in the music business together. Faulkner was an artist and Heath was his manager. Both men are vegans, and they felt there was a need for more vegan comfort food options in Charlotte.
“We felt like it would do well, but we did not know that it would do as well as it did as quickly as it did,” Faulkner said.

Romeo’s Vegan Burgers is at 5518 South Blvd. Restaurant hours are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
