CHARLOTTE — Enjoy a day of sipping brews and spirits, and eating ‘cue at the Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival on May 21 at Ballantyne’s Backyard. Admission includes unlimited tastings from more than 40 bourbons and 60 beers.

Barbecue vendors will be on-site, offering pulled pork from whole hogs, ribs, brisket, chicken, sausages and sides. (BBQ is à la carte.)
In addition, there will be seminars with master distillers, brewmasters and pit masters; exhibits; live music; and games.
Ballantyne’s Backyard Community Park is at 11611 North Community House Road.
Festival hours are 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. for VIP ticket holders and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. for general admission ticket holders.

VIP tickets cost $65. General admission costs $42.
Designated driver tickets cost $25 at the gate and are good for admission only.
Children 12 years old and younger are admitted free.
