CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After a wet end to the workweek, a few lingering showers will be possible as we start our day Saturday morning.
If you have plans to be out early on Saturday, you will still want the rain gear.
By the mid-morning hours, the majority of the rain will be pushing off to the east, with clearing sky and sunshine to quickly follow.
Temperatures will remain well above average for Saturday afternoon, with highs in the 60-70s across the Carolinas.
Conditions will get chilly to start the day on Sunday.
In fact, some locations in the mountains and foothills will have temperatures dip below freezing.
Once again, if you started your gardening and planting early this season, make sure to cover your plants or bring them indoors.
Temperatures in the metro and midlands will drop into the upper 30s, where a few areas of patchy frost may be observed.
Despite the cool start to the day, temperatures will rebound into the mid-60s by the afternoon, which is very seasonal for the start of April.
We will keep the clear sky and sunshine around throughout the day, making it the pick day of the weekend for any outdoor plans.
The quiet weather pattern stays with us as we head into the upcoming workweek.
