Tracking: Tropical depression Bonnie continues to bring heavy rain across the coast of the Carolinas, and some of those rain bands will be pushing through our area Sunday.

Rain chances: Expect waves of rain on and off throughout the day with heavy periods of rain. The heaviest rain will be to the south and east. Rockingham and Chesterfield could see up to 1.5 inches of rain. Charlotte will mostly see less than 1 inch. It won't be as warm Sunday with highs in the upper 70s.

Severe weather: We have a chance for a few isolated storms and high winds, but the severe weather threat stays low. The strongest wind will be along the coast, but we could see wind gusts up to 20 mph in Charlotte. The shower threat will continue through the evening, which could have an impact on the Coca-Cola 600.

Memorial Day: The chance for showers and storms will continue for Memorial Day, but it won't be as widespread. Be sure to have a backup plan in case you are planning anything outdoors.

Work week: Rain chances will wind down by Tuesday, which will allow temperatures to heat up. Highs will be in the mid-80s.
