Get Charlotte's only live local radar on your phone

CHARLOTTE — For the first time, you can access the power and precision of Charlotte's only doppler radar right on your phone.  Live Early Warning Doppler 9 is now in the weather section of the free WSOC-TV News app.

While other weather apps and even the National Weather Service only have out-of-state radars at their disposal, WSOC-TV’s Live Early Warning Doppler 9 helps Chief Meteorologist Steve Udelson and Channel 9’s team of Certified Broadcast Meteorologists to quickly alert you to severe weather.

The radar images you get in the app are the same the meteorologists see in Severe Weather Center 9, including the ability to zoom right into your street.

To access the radar, download the free WSOC-TV news app in the Apple App or Google Play store.  Be sure to enable notifications so you’re the first to know about severe weather and breaking news.  When you tap on the menu in the top left of the screen, you’ll find the radar by tapping on “Live Local Radar” in the Weather section.  The radar is also available in the WSOC Weather app.
