Counties under flash flood warnings:
- Ashe until 1:30 a.m. Saturday
- York until 12:30 p.m. Sunday
FORECAST:
- Strong storms developed over the region late Friday afternoon and into the evening hours.
- The heavy rainfall is expected to dissipate overnight.
- Strong pop-up storms will continue through the holiday weekend.
- Highs will be around 90 degrees on Saturday and Sunday and about 85 on Labor Day.
- It will be in the 70s with possible showers for the rest of the work week.
