FORECAST:

  • Still quite cold this morning, but warmer weather does return today. Highs bounce back to the lower 50s this afternoon, with plenty of sun.
  • The milder weather remains through tomorrow and the start of the weekend.
  • The next storm system arrives early on Saturday, with steady rain showers (hopefully we gain some dry time by Saturday afternoon).
  • Then, we deal with the next arctic blast. Temperatures drop a touch on Sunday but the big plunge comes in on Monday, with highs barely above freezing.
  • Temperatures remain very cold throughout next week, with many days struggling to get above freezing in the metro and lows in the teens.
  • This could end up being the coldest air in over two years in Charlotte.
  • As far as any wintry weather threats – nothing to be too worried about right now. Models have been very inconsistent on any threats and are starting to trend drier. We’ll see if that changes as we head to the weekend.
