Severe thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m.
FORECAST:
- Flooding poses a growing risk in specific areas of Charlotte as relentless storms bring heavy rainfall, according to Chief Meteorologist John Ahrens.
- Severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued.
- Expect strong winds, hail and lightning.
- These storms will finally ease up and we’ll get a break on Thursday.
- Enjoy that break because the rain will return on Friday.
- Ahrens said Charlotte has gotten 6 inches of rain in May, so far with more to come.
