CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Matthew became a Category 4 hurricane Friday afternoon with top winds of 140 mph.
The current forecast has the hurricane off the coast of Florida by the middle of next week.

There are no signs of direct impact to the Carolinas, but we will monitor the situation closely.
The sun returned Friday and dried things out as temperatures will be around 80 degrees in the Charlotte area.
Cooler air will push in and temperatures will fall into the lower 50s Saturday morning.
Beautiful fall weather will remain in place all weekend, with highs in the lower 80s and lows in the 50s.
