Jail phone call: Detective confronts Casey Parsons

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — Throughout their search for Erica Parsons, detectives said they knew her adoptive mother, Casey Parsons, was the mastermind – the one behind the years of lies.

When Sandy Parsons, Erica’s adoptive father and Casey’s husband, led investigators to Erica’s remains in 2016 in South Carolina, they didn’t tell Casey.

In a 2016 phone call that’s never been made public before, Major Chad Moose with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office gives Casey one final chance to confess.

Casey was serving time in a Florida prison on fraud charges for accepting benefits for Erica after she was gone.

“I know Erica isn’t on this Earth anymore,” Moose said to Casey.

“Oh yes she is,” Casey said.
