MAIDEN, N.C. — West Lincoln defeated Maiden 31-18 Friday in the WSOC-TV High School Football Extra Game of the Week.
Despite getting outscored in the second half, West Lincoln (5-1) opened up an 18-0 cushion by halftime.
The Rebels took a 24-0 lead into the fourth quarter before Maiden scored three touchdowns, but failed to convert on each 2-point conversion.
Maiden (4-2) dominated its first two opponents by a combined 117-0.
However, the Blue Devils have now lost two in a row.
West Lincoln lost 7-6 at North Lincoln last week for its lone defeat.
West Lincoln is led by quarterback Seth Willis and running backs Brendon Ikard and Nakathon Phansook.
Maiden is led by quarterback Bain Sipe and running backs Malik Kennedy and Lee Turner.
