CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte radio station will broadcast from a different studio Tuesday after a driver slammed into the building Monday in the middle of a live show.
Listeners heard the wreck on their radios when the car hit the ESPN 730 studios on Morehead Street in uptown around 3:30 p.m.
Channel 9 spoke to the operations manager, who said something like this has been in the back of his mind for a while.
“We've been concerned about it for a while,” said Mario Washington. “Jokingly concerned about it. Never thought it would actually happen, but rest assured, hopefully we can get some guard rails up to prevent something like this from happening in the future.”
One person suffered minor injuries and went to the hospital.
