Unique game themes revealed for Knights, tickets on sale

CHARLOTTE — Tickets for the Charlotte Knights went on sale Saturday.

The first fans began to arrive at 6:25 a.m., according to director of public relations Tommy Viola.

The most popular games were Opening Night (April 9), White Sox exhibition game (April 3), 4th of July, Pink Knights (May 16), July 3, and Bark in the Ballpark games.

The Charlotte Knights released their promotional schedule via the team's Instagram page, highlighted by tributes to iconic movies "Caddyshack," "Star Wars," and "Back to the Future," a Superhero Night with pro wrestler "Hurricane" Helms.

The team will have 13 Thirsty Thursdays, fans 21 and over can enjoy $3 small drafts until the end of the 7th inning.

The Knights have three $1 hot dog nights this season, the first will occur on April 13. On April 14, the first 3,000 fans will receive a BB&T Ballpark Canvas print, courtesy of BB&T.

The team will host two Bark in the Ballpark games this season. The first of which will be April 19. The first 1,000 dogs will also receive a dog collar that day as the Knights host the Gwinnett Braves.

On Sunbelt Family Sundays kids can run the bases after all non-fireworks Sunday home games. Seven of the Sunday games start at 2:05 p.m., while three will start at 5:05 p.m.

Twitter Tuesdays will also return to the Ballpark this season. Knights fans in attendance at BB&T Ballpark will have a chance to win prizes on Twitter by following @KnightsBaseball.

On April 28, the first 3,000 fans will receive a Star Wars Knight Glow-in-the-Dark lightsaber cap, courtesy of Carolinas Healthcare System. The Knights will host an education day on April 29, followed by SuperHero Night on April 30.

The 10th Annual Pink Knights game will be played on May 16. The first 2,500 ladies will receive a pink baseball and the Knights will wear pink jerseys.
