April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, but child abuse and neglect are more widespread than many realize.
It can often go unnoticed and unreported, because the signs can be subtle.

Channel 9 is highlighting the efforts of the Children's Advocacy Centers of North Carolina and Pat's Place for their work to shine a light on abuse and help the victims.

Children's Advocacy Centers of NC

Children’s Advocacy Centers of North Carolina provides leadership and support to over 50 child advocacy centers across the state.
The CAC model is set up to facilitate cooperation between healthcare, legal, social service, law enforcement, and mental health services that children need when they have been abused or neglected.
Each year, more than 12,000 children turn to CACs in North Carolina seeking help and a way forward after the trauma of child abuse.
