CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Cox Media Group Charlotte announced Thursday that it will launch Telemundo Charlotte, the first and only full-power high definition Spanish-language local broadcast station in the Charlotte DMA, on June 1.
A leading producer of innovative and high-quality content for Hispanics in the U.S. and around the world, Telemundo programming features original scripted dramas, innovative non-scripted programming, theatrical motion pictures, comprehensive nightly newscasts and news-related specials, and the world’s two most prestigious sporting events, the FIFA World Cup and the Olympics.
This June, Telemundo Charlotte will be the home of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 Russia, providing exclusive and comprehensive Spanish-language coverage to Charlotte’s viewers.
Telemundo Charlotte will be available for the first time to over-the-air viewers in high definition on WSOC-TV’s digital tier channel 9.2 and on local cable providers throughout the Charlotte DMA. LAFFTV will move to channel 64.4.

Charlotte is the fastest growing Hispanic DMA in the Carolinas and the third fastest growing Hispanic DMA in the Southeast. The area has seen its Hispanic population increase by 177 percent since 2000.
