CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. — A woman was going for a hike in Chappaqua, New York, when she ran into an unexpected fellow hiker: Hillary Clinton.
CBS News reported that Margot Gerster posted about the experience on Facebook Thursday.
"I've been feeling so heartbroken since yesterday's election and decided what better way to relax than take my girls hiking," Gerster wrote. "We were the only ones there and it was so beautiful and relaxing. As we were leaving, I heard a bit of rustling coming towards me and as I stepped into the clearing there she was, Hillary Clinton and Bill with their dogs doing exactly the same thing as I was."
The Clintons own a home in Chappaqua, so it makes sense that they may go for hikes in the area.
Gerster said she had the chance to give Clinton a hug and talk to her before letting her go on their way.
"I got to hug her and talk to her and tell her that one of my most proudest moments as a mother was taking (my daughter) Phoebe with me to vote for her," she wrote. "She hugged me and thanked me and we exchanged some sweet pleasantries and then I let them continue their walk."
According to Gerster, it was Bill Clinton who snapped the photo of her with her daughter in tow with the former presidential candidate.
"Now, I'm not one for signs, but I think I'll definitely take this one," Gerster wrote. "So proud."
