GREEN BAY, Wis. — A Wisconsin father could face a 60-year prison term in connection with the January 2018 death of his newborn son.

According to WLUK and The Associated Press, Jeremiah Thomas, 33, of Green Bay, was convicted of reckless homicide Tuesday, more than 2 1/2 years after his 23-day-old son was found unresponsive in Thomas' home. The baby boy, who had a fractured skull, broken legs and broken ribs, died from his injuries, the news outlets reported.

Thomas told investigators that he had spanked the boy, squeezed him, lifted him by his feet and dropped him, according to WLUK.

Thomas, who later pleaded no contest to the reckless homicide charge, will be sentenced in November, the news outlets reported.
