BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Walmart gave hourly employees their quarterly bonuses early: totaling -- a $180 million payout Wednesday.
The world’s largest retailer expedited the incentive pay and still plans to give associates their regularly scheduled quarterly bonus next month.

“We’ve seen firsthand our associates’ unwavering focus to take care of customers and members while providing a vital service to communities during this time,” company officials said in a statement.

Previously this month, the company gave hourly employees a $365 million cash bonus: $300 to full-time and $150 to part-time workers.
The company also said it has hired 200,000 new employees since March 19.
