The video was shot along Tottenham Court Road and shows cyclists, cars and buses narrowly missing collisions with the flying balls, which also begin to lose their silver foil coating after hitting objects.

The balls, which were also lit, are part of a large art installation in the area, Sky News reported.

The sight came just after warnings were issued in the area for strong winds and heavy rains from Storm Claudio, The Telegraph reported.

There were no reports of injuries, and the baubles were brought under control after a short time, Sky News reported.

Many people were quick to make jokes about the incident on social media, commenting on the video, “Nature’s way of telling you it’s only November 1st!”

The incident happened one day before Oxford Street’s annual Christmas light switch-on, which is still scheduled for Wednesday and expected to draw large crowds, The Evening Standard reported.
