Tyler Perry, Georgia first lady Marty Kemp team up for human trafficking awareness video

ATLANTA — Atlanta media mogul Tyler Perry has recorded a public service announcement to help a commission started by Georgia first lady Marty Kemp raise awareness about human trafficking.

According to WSB-TV, Kemp, who created the Georgians for Refuge, Action, Compassion and Education Commission, shared the 1-minute video Thursday on social media.

“Sadly, it’s happening right here in our backyard in Georgia, in small towns and big cities,” Perry said in the PSA. “Thousands of victims are trapped and they need our help. Unfortunately, many are being trafficked by the very people they trust the most, like their friends and family.”

He also urged viewers to watch a human trafficking awareness training video launched by Kemp, GRACE and the Georgia Department of Administrative Services.

“It can save someone’s life,” Perry said. “Working together we can be the force of good that ends human trafficking once and for all.”

In a statement, Kemp thanked Perry for his efforts in the fight against human trafficking.

“With his partnership, more Georgians will be equipped with the knowledge to identify potential instances of trafficking – but most importantly, they will be equipped with the ability to save lives,” the statement read.
