Anyone planning to fly this Thanksgiving season might want to brush up on holiday flying etiquette and increased precautions being taken amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
The Transportation Security Administration is reminding air passengers, especially those who have not flown in months, to familiarize themselves with the latest protocols and tips, KGET reported.

First, travelers should remember to wear a mask and social distance not only when waiting in security checkpoint lines but also while walking through airport terminals, WLNY reported.
Second, the agency recommends flyers enroll in its PreCheck program, intended to limit the hassles of removing shoes, belts, lightweight jackets and electronics while being screened, KGET reported.
Meanwhile, any food making the trek should be placed in plastic bags, and while cakes and pies will be allowed in carry-on luggage, any spreadable or pourable items – such as cranberry sauce or gravy – must be packed in checked bags, the TV station reported.
According to Hopper’s latest Holiday Travel Confidence Report, about 50% of respondents said they plan to fly during the Thanksgiving holiday and 75% intend to do so in December.
