Texas small plane crash: 1 killed, 2 hurt when aircraft crashes between 2 homes

TOMBALL, Texas — At least one person was killed and two others were wounded when a single-engine plane crashed in Texas, authorities said.

According to KHOU-TV and KRIV-TV, the incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m. CDT Thursday on Monterrey Pine Place in Tomball. The Texas Department of Public Safety said a Cirrus SR22 plane headed to David Wayne Hooks Memorial Airport lost power and struck a tree as it crash-landed between two mobile homes.

Two men and a woman were on board the plane at the time of the crash, the news outlets reported. Crews rushed them to a nearby hospital, where one man died, according to KRIV. Authorities have not released the names of the victims.

The aircraft had taken off from a Tennessee airport before refueling in Louisiana, authorities told the news outlets.

The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation into the crash, KHOU reported.
