SAN ANTONIO — A Texas man was wounded Saturday after police said he threatened to hit his neighbor’s dog with a shovel.
The 58-year-old man was shot in the chest at about 4:45 p.m. CDT after he argued with his 64-year-old neighbor, KABB-TV reported.
San Antonio police did not release the name of either man.

Neighbors said the two men had an ongoing dispute, and when one of them threatened to hit the animal with a shovel, the 64-year-old man went into his home and returned with a weapon, according to the television station.
The 58-year-old man was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, KABB reported.
The man who fired the weapon was detained while police investigate the case, according to KSAT. He could face aggravated assault charges, the television station reported.
No other details were provided by authorities.
