LAS VEGAS — How windy was it in Las Vegas on Saturday? Windy enough to push a large portable sign across the street as easily as a piece of paper.
A fast-moving storm made its way across the Las Vegas valley, causing fallen trees and damage to buildings, homes, and roadways, KLAS reported. In Clark County, winds gusted between 50 to 70 mph in some areas, the television station reported.
On the Las Vegas Strip, one gust sent a portable sign rolling across Las Vegas Boulevard near the Mirage Hotel. David Charms, a reporter for KLAS, tweeted a video of the sign crossing the street.
“Those things are heavy,” Charms tweeted.
It was pretty windy. Check out the rolling sign on the Las Vegas Strip. (Those things are heavy.) #8NN

Gusty winds in North Las Vegas also caused havoc at the Broadacres Marketplace, KTNV reported.
