COLUMBIA, S.C. — A third suspect has been denied bond after a shooting left 15 people hurt Saturday at a Columbia mall.
According to WACH-TV, a judge denied bond Thursday for Amari Sincere-Jamal Smith, 19, the last of three suspects arrested in the case. Smith, who argued that he did not pose a flight risk, said he didn’t surrender to police sooner because he had been seeking an attorney, the news outlet reported.

Hours earlier, Columbia police tweeted that Smith had been booked on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and battery, and unlawfully carrying a pistol, according to WPDE-TV and WIS-TV.
The update came three days after police arrested Marquise Love Robinson, 20, on the same charges in connection with the shooting, which occurred about 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Columbiana Centre. Nine people were injured by gunfire, while six others were hurt while trying to flee the mall, The Associated Press previously reported.

On Sunday, police also arrested Jewayne M. Price, 22, on a charge of unlawfully carrying a pistol. His charges were later amended to include attempted murder and aggravated assault and battery, the AP reported Monday.
A judge denied bond for Robinson and Price on Tuesday, WIS-TV reported.
