SEATTLE — A police chase and crash that closed part of a freeway in Seattle was captured on multiple traffic cameras on Wednesday.
Shortly before 10:30 a.m., Washington State Department of Transportation cameras showed a police chase that started on Interstate 5, south of Seattle.
The incident began in Federal Way after a woman rammed a patrol vehicle with her car and fled, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson. Because the woman was showing obvious signs of impairment, troopers were able to initiate a pursuit.
The video shows the suspect driving on the shoulder and weaving in between cars amid heavy morning traffic.
Troopers used a pursuit intervention technique, or PIT maneuver, to hit the car and bring it to a stop.
