LAS VEGAS — A Colorado woman is accused of bypassing airport security in Las Vegas and flying as a stowaway to Los Angeles, authorities said.
Sarah Louise Rice, 39, of Boulder, was arrested on Jan. 8 and charged with misdemeanor charges of theft and violating Federal Trade Commission rules, according to Clark County online court records.
That night, officers at Harry Reid International Airport responded to a report of a woman who was on a Spirit Airlines flight without a ticket or identification, KLAS-TV reported.

“(Rice) subsequently advised officers that she did not have a ticket for the flight she was on due to her sneaking through TSA in (Los Angeles) and sneaking onto a Spirit flight to Harry Reid International Airport,” the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department told the television station.
According to a police report, Rice allegedly told officers that she had taken a bus from Colorado to Salt Lake City, KLAS reported. She then breached airport security and took a flight to Los Angeles.
“Rice additionally told (an FBI agent) she has attempted to sneak on multiple flights in the past to various locations both domestically and internationally but has not always been successful,” police said.
Officials added that Rice sneaked through TSA security on Jan. 7, then waited in a gate area for a day before boarding the flight to Las Vegas, KLAS reported.
Rice was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and was released later that day, according to the television station.
According to Clark County court records, a hearing will be held on March 23 to check the status of the possible filing of a criminal complaint.
