Gyro kits sold at Sprouts stores have been recalled due to a potential salmonella contamination.
The Gyro Family Kit has UPC 20594800000, use-by dates of 12/29/2024 to 01/07/2024 and came in a plastic tray with a clear plastic lid.
They were sold in stores in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming, the Food and Drug Administration said.
The issue stems from cucumbers in the tzatziki sauce included in the tray, the FDA said.
If you have the recalled gyro kits, you should either throw them away or return them to the store for a refund. You should also thoroughly clean and sanitize any surface the kit came in contact with.
