BRAINTREE, Mass. — Two people were arrested Friday in connection with a shooting at a Boston-area mall that wounded one person, authorities said.
Update 7:43 p.m. EDT July 3: Braintree police said two men were in custody after the shooting at the South Shore Plaza mall in Braintree, WFXT reported.
The lockdown at the mall and the shelter-in-place for surrounding neighborhoods were lifted, the television station reported.
Two males have been detained and are in custody. Police agencies and @MetroLEC SWAT are continuing to clear the plaza and release those sheltering in place.

Police said the two men fled the scene on foot after the shooting but were later found and arrested. It is unclear where they were found, WFXT reported.
According to officials, the shooting occurred at 4:43 p.m., and stores were immediately placed under lockdown. Police said the shooting was a targeted attack and not an act of terrorism.

Massachusetts police responded to the South Shore Plaza mall in Braintree. According to officials, stores were placed under lockdown, WFXT reported. Police said they believe the shooter has left the area but are still clearing the area with tactical units.

The victim was transported an area hospital, but that person’s condition was unknown.
