SAUGERTIES, N.Y. — A man is facing charges in New York after police said he threatened a Domino’s pizza delivery driver with a gun, because he hadn’t ordered any pizza.
Saugerties police said in a news release that they arrested Ralph Carpino III for pointing a loaded handgun at the delivery driver. Carpino had said that he didn’t order a pizza, but detectives determined another member of the family had ordered pizza to be delivered to the house.
Police seized the gun, a Glock .40 Cal Semi-Automatic handgun, at the scene, WTEN reported.
Saugerties police chief Joseph Sinagra told the Daily Freeman that Carpino is a corrections officer. State officials declined to comment on Carpino’s employment, but the Daily Freeman found employment records showing Carpino as an employee of the Ulster Correctional Facility, a medium-security facility for men.
Carpino was charged with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, Sinagra told the Register-Star. If found guilty, Carpino could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
