Pennsylvania State Police told WHTM that a trooper noticed a Ford Explorer traveling without headlights at 11:55 p.m. on Dec. 21. When the vehicle drove the wrong way around a traffic circle, the trooper attempted to pull the vehicle over.

Instead of stopping, the car continued driving and drove the wrong way down another street and went through several red lights, WPMT reported. Despite the trooper activating their lights and sirens, the car refused to stop for three miles and was “swerving and fluctuating speed.”

The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed into a utility pole, WGAL reported.

When troopers approached the car, they found the driver was a 10-year-old boy with his 6-year-old brother as a passenger, WPMT reported.

Police said the children were not hurt and were returned to their parents, according to WHTM.

Investigators did not say whether any charges would be filed.
