NASHVILLE,, Tenn. — The 54th annual Country Music Association Awards returned to Nashville on Wednesday night with a live broadcast from the Music City Center and some of country music’s biggest stars in attendance despite the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Past CMA winners Reba McEntire and Darius Rucker hosted the star-studded event, which began with Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Ashley McBryde and Brothers Osborne paying tribute to the late Charlie Daniels via a spirited medley of his most beloved hits.
The most-awarded artist of the evening was Maren Morris, who took home top honors for Female Vocalist, Song and Single of the Year, while Luke Combs won both Male Vocalist and Album of the Year.
