BILOXI, Miss. — A man died Friday night when he fell from the top of the parking garage at a Biloxi casino, authorities said.
According to police, the body of a 45-year-old man was pulled from the waters outside the Hard Rock Casino Biloxi, WLOX reported.
Update 2:41 p.m. EDT Oct. 24: According to Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer, the victim was identified as Joseph Baynes, 45, of Daphne, AL.com reported. He died of blunt force trauma, said Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer.
Baynes, his wife, and another couple had been in Biloxi to celebrate his birthday, according to the website.
Original report: According to a police report, the man had severe head trauma and broken bones, the Sun Herald of Biloxi reported.
Witnesses told police that the man and his friends were returning to their vehicles, which were located on the top floor of the casino’s parking garage, WLOX reported. The man jumped onto the top of a support pillar and stumbled, causing him to fall off the edge of the garage, according to the television station.
No foul play is suspected, and the investigation is ongoing, the Sun Herald reported.
