FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Tennessee police arrested a man for driving under the influence, a crime he had been charged with four times previously.
In a news release, Franklin police said Dylan Lankford was stopped after an officer saw him commit a traffic violation. The officer who stopped Lankford said that Lankford was visibly impaired and arrested him. Inside Lankford’s car, officers found 35 empty cans and bottles.
This is the fifth time Lankford has been arrested on charges of DUI, WKRN reported. Lankford faces other charges as well, including having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, about 28 people die each day in crashes involving drunk drivers, with 10,142 people killed in 2019.
