GLENDALE, Ariz. — Five people, including a child, were injured after a shooting at an Arizona outlet mall Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
According to the Glendale Police Department, the shooting occurred at a Tanger Outlets Center in Glendale, KNXV-TV reported.
Update 10:19 p.m. EDT March 23: Glendale police Officer Tiffany Ngalula told reporters that five people were injured during the shooting. She added that one of the victims is a child and the other four are “young” adults, The Arizona Republic reported. None of the victims sustained life-threatening injuries, she said.
Their identities and ages were not released.
Update 7:47 p.m. EDT March 23: At a news conference, Glendale police said three people, including a child, were shot. One of the victims is in critical condition, KNXV reported. It was unclear whether the victim was the child or one of the adults, the television station reported.
“An altercation between two groups of people” turned into a fight and then a shooting, Glendale police Officer Tiffany Ngalula told reporters at a news conference.
“We’re still sorting out how many victims, how many potential shooters there are, but we do not believe that there is anyone else outstanding,” Ngalula said.
Original report: The shooting happened at about 3 p.m. local time, The Arizona Republic reported.
“We are asking all businesses to lock down and people to stay out of the area,” Glendale police said in a tweet. No other information was available.

Police asked businesses in the area to lock down, according to the Republic.
There is no information about a suspect or what led to the shooting. However, Glendale police said in a tweet that the situation was an isolated incident and not an active shooter.
Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey said in a statement that his office was working closely with the Glendale Police Department, adding that “our prayers are with those who have been impacted.”
