Kanye West concedes election, looks to 2024

Kanye West, whose bid for the White House was a long shot, conceded the election early Wednesday after garnering about .05% of the vote.

West, a late entrant to the race who only had his name on ballots in a dozen states, received about 60,000 total votes, including his own.

“Today I am voting for the first time in my life for the President of the United States, and it’s for someone I truly trust...me,” he said on social media while filling his name in as a write-in candidate in Wyoming.

West got more than 1,000 votes in the 12 states where his name was on the ballot, Fox News reported. The most votes West received, 10,216, were from voters in Tennessee, Variety reported. A 13th state, California, listed West as a vice presidential candidate to Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente Guerra, CBS News reported.

West’s seriousness as a candidate was questioned as some speculated that the former supporter of President Donald Trump was running as a way to pull votes from Democrats.

While West conceded this election, he is not ruling out another run.

“Kanye 2024,” he wrote on social media.
