For those who want to thank someone for being a friend, a “Golden Girls” cruise might be the answer.
Up to 1,000 fans can sail out of Miami on April 8, 2023, on the Celebrity Summit “Golden Fans at Sea” cruise that is themed around the iconic television series that starred Bea Arthur, Betty White, Estelle Getty and Rue McClanahan from 1985 to 1992.
The cruise ship will travel from Miami -- where the Golden Girls lived during the series’ run -- and have stops in Key West, Florida, and Cozumel, Mexico, the Miami Herald reported.

The five-night cruise will include a bar crawl in Key West, an unlimited open bar, a buffet, 200-foot waterslides and two pools in Cozumel, WFLA-TV reported.
The cruise will run through April 13, 2023, the television station reported.
“Guests who are fans of the show will have a chance to celebrate the legacy of the show with other enthusiastic fans,” Chad Kampe, spokesperson for the event producer, Flip Phone Events, told the Herald.
The first Golden Fans at Sea cruise in 2020 included show writer Stan Zimmerman; “Golden Girls” producer Marsha Posner Williams; Melinda McClanahan, sister of the late Rue McClanahan, the Golden Gays NYC performance troupe and “Golden Girls” historian and author Jim Colucci, the newspaper reported.
The guest list for the 2023 cruise has not been finalized, but Kampe told the Herald he expects many of those who sailed in 2020 to make a return cruise.
