AVON, Colo. — Employees at a Colorado restaurant started the New Year with something to celebrate, a generous $2,021 tip.
A family of three left the tip Sunday on a $300 bill at Vin48 in Avon, Colorado, possibly as part of the “2021 Just Be Nice Challenge,” the Vail Daily reported.

The family asked the restaurant to divide the tip among the kitchen and front of house staff.
“It was really nice especially for the kitchen to be recognized for all of their hard work, in creating all of those dishes,” server Carly Dierolf said. “We servers are constantly getting tipped for our service and the back of the house doesn’t get tipped for their hard work. It was great to see all the guys be so happy about it.”
