Blair Underwood and Desiree DaCosta are splitting up.
According to The Associated Press, the “L.A. Law” star and his wife, who wed in 1994, took to Instagram on Sunday to share the news in a joint statement.
“After a tremendous amount of thought, prayer & work on ourselves individually & collectively, we have come to the conclusion to end our marriage that began 27 years ago,” the statement read. “It has truly been a beautiful journey.”
The couple went on to call their three children – Paris, 24; Brielle, 22; and Blake, 19 – their “proudest achievements,” People magazine reported.
“We continue to be awed & humbled by the blessings of parenting,” Underwood, 56, and DaCosta said in the statement. “We have always put their best interests first & will continue to do so.”
The pair added that they “will continue to be the best of friends and co-parents” and continue to “have the utmost respect for one another.”
“We thank you all for your support throughout the years & we humbly ask for privacy & understanding during this new season of change,” the statement concluded.
