Police are trying to find who left a newborn on the front porch of a home in Blacksburg, South Carolina.
Police said a man heard his doorbell ring around 8:30 a.m. Saturday. When he went to answer the door, he found the baby, wrapped in a blanket, lying on his doorstep, WHNS reported.
He took the baby to a local emergency room before she was transferred to Spartanburg Regional Hospital, WYFF reported.
Doctors there said the baby appears to be premature, born between 35 and 36 weeks and just under 5 pounds, WHNS reported.

The unnamed baby is in the emergency custody of South Carolina’s Department of Social Services while she is cared for by Spartanburg Regional Hosptial.
Police said they have exhausted all leads and are trying to find out who abandoned the baby, WYFF reported.
