DADE CITY, Fla. — At least one person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting in Dade City, Florida, on Saturday night.
Dade City Police Department officers were called to Watson Park on 19th Street after a shooting, according to WTSP. Police said a group of people were at the park for a birthday party.
Dade City Commissioner Knut Nathe, in a Facebook post, wrote that shots were fired following an argument between two men around 7 p.m., according to WFLA. Shots were reportedly fired into the crowd, the Dade City Police Department said.
“One man discharged a firearm into the ground, and the other discharged his firearm into the other man, who died at the scene,” Nathe said on Facebook.
Police said that three people were shot, WTSP reported.
Nathe said a woman was injured and taken to the hospital, according to WFLA. Her current condition is unknown, as well as the extent of her injuries.
Police say it is unknown who started the argument and that the people were shot with an unknown caliber firearm, according to the news outlet.
No suspect information has been released.
